This information is of the most interes for the foreigners who lives in Guatemala and mostly for the ones who have decided to retire here. Mostly because of not knowing the language we don't follow the national news. So in our particular case let say you know by now that if you have a car in Guatemala with Guatemalan plaques you have every year to get the circulation sticker. It is a tax specifically for motor vehicle (its applies also for bicycle and boat) and you pay it at the bank. Upon payment your receive the new sticker and you put it on the upper right side of your windshield. Better to remove the old ones so you don't limit your view. In order to pay your new sticker you have first to consult if you have ticket (could be parking ticket or speed ticket the most common, as now in some areas the transit police do control speed with handheld speedometer). If you have a ticket or several you have to pay them in order to be able to get the sticker.
